You need to replace a melt pressure transducer.
There's just one problem:
It WON'T come out.
Before reaching for a bigger wrench, here are a few things to consider.
Don't Force It Cold
Hardened polymer around the sensing tip and mounting threads can make a transducer extremely difficult to remove when the machine is cold.
When appropriate for your equipment and process, bringing the area to the proper removal temperature can help soften residual material and make removal easier.
Always follow your equipment manufacturer's procedures for safely servicing a heated and pressurized system.
Use the Wrench Flats
This sounds obvious, but we've seen otherwise.
Apply removal force only where the transducer was designed to accept it.
Don't use the electrical housing, connector or flexible stem for additional leverage. Twisting those areas can permanently damage the transducer before you've gotten it out of the machine.
Don't Keep Adding Force
If the sensor still won't move, stop and figure out why.
Possible causes include:

Hardened process material

Damaged or contaminated threads
-
Cross-threading

Improper installation
-
Excessive installation torque
-
Material buildup around the sensing tip
More torque isn't always the solution.
Once It's Out, Check the Mounting Hole
Before installing the replacement, inspect and properly clean the mounting hole and threads.
A damaged or contaminated mounting hole can make the new transducer difficult to install—and set you up for the exact same problem the next time it needs to come out.
Oh, And Don't Throw Away the Old Sensor
Even if the transducer doesn't survive removal, keep it.
The manufacturer, partial part number, pressure range, connector and physical configuration can all help identify the correct replacement.
